Lawn Weed Control • Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control

No Weeds-Guaranteed! uses motorized pest control applicators and fertilizer spreaders. Motor powered sprayers offer many advantages over hand operated sprayers. The benefits include:

  • Properly equipped and operated, power sprayers can provide uniform coverage on a wide variety of targets. Manual applicators are human powered and the coverage will vary. Customer visits later in the day when the technician is tired may not get the same treatment as the first customer.
  • Motorized applicators let the technician focus on the application.
  • Motorized applicators are more precise and will reduce surface staining and over spray on ornamentals.

What causes weeds in the lawn?

  • Weeds by nature grow faster than grass.
  • A lawn that is full leaves little room for weeds.
  • A distressed lawn will create weak spots in the lawn.
  • Weeds will claim that spot before the grass can grow back.

What causes a distressed lawn?

The best defense against weeds is a strong lawn. Anything that will distress the lawn will create a weed problem. Items that most frequently
distress a lawn are:

  • Cutting too much of the grass blade at once. The guideline is not to cut more than 30% of the blade at one time. Another problem caused by cutting too much is heavy thatch covering portions of the lawn. This will distress the spot being covered.
  • Cutting the lawn with a dull blade. This can be evidenced by a jagged or torn looking edge on the grass blade. The jagged and torn edge damages the blade that is left after cutting.
  • Not enough water. A lack of water invites grass or root eating insects, such as chinchbugs. Too much water can cause fungus in the lawn.
